Tidal power
Picture
Primary or secundary energy
Tidal energy is primary since the primary energy source is not exhausted by its exploitation, and is clean since no gaseous, liquid or solid polluting byproducts are produced in the energy transformation. However, the amount of energy that can be obtained with current means and the economic and environmental cost of installing the devices have prevented notable energy deployment.
Renewable or not renewable
It is renewable since the marine current can be considered the most mature and closest to commercialization. Where there is a minimum difference of five meters between high and low tide.
Traditional or alternative energy
The primary energy source is not exhausted by its exploitation, and is clean since no gaseous, liquid or solid polluting byproducts are produced in the energy transformation. However, the amount of energy that can be obtained with current means and the economic and environmental cost of installing the devices have prevented notable energy deployment.
Bref definition
Tidal energy, also referred to as oceanic or marine energy, is that which is achieved by the movement of the seas. The energy that the tide generates when bidding and going down.
Advantages :
